Who Am I Really? Online Meditation Journey Into Your Essence

We warmly invite you to join this unique 10-session online journey into the discovery of your True Self. Over two weeks, we’ll explore a fascinating meditation process that gently guides you to recognise and reconnect with your very Essence — that state beyond masks and learned conditionings, the space of freedom, clarity, and quiet contentment you were born with.

Each meditation session will explore powerful meditative techniques and timeless principles that have supported seekers for centuries in freeing themselves from the limitations of the mind.

Drawing from Zen, the ancient Upanishads, and the self-inquiry teachings of Ramana Maharshi, as well as the Enlightenment Intensive process developed by Charles Berner, this course offers a rich, experiential path toward self-realisation.
Among the ways we explore this inquiry is through the contemplation of timeless koans — such as “Who am I?” — guiding you into a direct and intimate experience of awareness itself.

This course is a heartfelt invitation both for those who have already attended an Enlightenment Intensive Retreat and wish to deepen their practice, and for newcomers curious about Essence work — or anyone simply drawn to explore what lies beyond the usual activity of the mind and our conditioned self-image.

You’ll learn to quiet the mind, inquire into the nature of “I,” and open to the clarity and peace that naturally arise through this practice.

As always, after each meditation, there will be an open sharing circle for those who wish to join — a welcoming space for reflections, questions, or simply being together in mutual support.

Wherever you are on your Path, this journey will bring you closer to fully embodying your essence and living from a place of conscious awareness and love.

What This Course Will Give You

  • A deep understanding of self‑inquiry practice: Learn the subtleties of each step in the correct technique of self enquiry, as developed and proved by Charles Berner.
  • Daily morning meditations: Start each day with guided contemplations and gentle practices that ground you in presence.
  • Ancient and modern wisdom: Experience an elegant synthesis of both the ancient and modern approaches of the contemplation of Essential Self.
  • Greater self‑awareness: Dis‑identify from mental and emotional patterns and discover the silent awareness that they mask.
  • Tools for dealing with difficult emotions: Learn to recognise the patterns that often create discomfort.
  • Community and support: Enjoy the support of a loving community to create a safe space for safe sharing and deep listening.
  • Practical journaling prompts: Each session includes reflective questions to help you integrate insights.

 

Session Flow (10 Sessions)

  1. Introduction & the Great Question – Explore the purpose of asking “Who am I?” and learn how the Enlightenment Intensive combines contemplation and communication.
  2. Focus & Intention – Cultivate a clear intention and learn to concentrate on a single question; set the tone for the entire journey.
  3. Openness & Communication – Practise receptivity to whatever arises and experience how expressing your inner experience deepens insight.
  4. Self‑Enquiry– Engage in step‑by‑step negation practice as taught by Ramana Maharshi to discover awareness beyond thoughts.
  5. The Great Question in Zen – Embrace the Zen principle of “no point of view” and learn to ask the great question on behalf of all life.
  6. Ancient Wisdom from the Upanishads – Reflect on the question’s roots in Indian spirituality and explore how the world and self arise together.
  7. Watching the Mind– Realise the “voice in my head is not who I am” and practise observing thoughts from the space of awareness.
  8. Egoic Illusion – Learn to identify the specific egoic patterns that generates tension and how to dissolve their impact.
  9. Integration & Sharing – Use open sharing, communication or journaling to integrate your experiences and learn the art of listening without judgement.
  10. Abiding as Pure Awareness – Move beyond the question to rest in the simple, timeless “I Am” state of Being, allowing the practice to permeate your daily life.

This course invites you to step beyond concepts and meet your true self. Whether you’re a seasoned practitioner or taking your first steps into meditation, you’ll find a rich blend of wisdom, practice, and community designed to guide you home.

 

Your Guide

Peter Harper

Peter is an experienced spiritual guide with more than 35 years of experience in self discovery and spiritual guidance. He divides his time hosting Meditation and Self Awareness Retreats and Workshops in Europe and creating Guided Meditation and Conscious Music recordings.

Peter is the founder of The Drunken Monk project connecting spirituality with daily life, using tools such as guided meditation recordings, Enlightenment Intensive process, Self Awareness retreats and workshops.

SCHEDULE:

Course dates: 1-12/12, 2025

Daily morning sessions from Monday till Friday

Sessions time: from 7.00am CET / 06.00am UK time (same for both weeks)

Each guided meditation session lasts for 45 minutes. After that the recording is stopped to respect peoples privacy and we offer an informal sharing circle where you may ask a question, share an experience or enjoy listening others.

* All sessions will be live (on Zoom). Each session will be recorded and sent to you after the live stream. You will be able to access all recordings anytime during the course + 2 weeks after the course finishes, so even if you cannot always make it live, you will not miss a thing!
